Welcome! Established in 1986 to advance dignified care for the elderly and disabled, the NAPGCM is an association made up of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. Geriatric Care Managers help aging and disabled adults to obtain the assistance they need to maintain a safe and dignified quality of life. They have extensive knowledge about the cost, quality and availability of services in the community. Our Geriatric Care Manager members meet strict certification requirements and most also hold professional licenses, degrees and/or certifications in a field of human services, such as social work, nursing, psychology, and gerontology. Through assessment, education, advocacy, care planning and counseling, NAPGCM members assist elderly and disabled clients as well as their families in coping with the ongoing challenges of illness and aging. NAPGCM has become a recognized leader in the field of aging. Our many members participate in national coalitions as well as professional conferences throughout the country. Articles about caregiving and care management, written by our members, appear regularly in publications and in broadcast media. Major business and professional societies recognize the value of our services and seek out Geriatric Care Managers for assistance with issues of aging. |
